Christopher Uriarte

Christopher Uriarte is a career technologist specializing in the development of innovative products and services that are often categorized as "industry leading" or "industry changing". In 1998, he was featured in the InfoWeek Magazine Hot 30 Under 30 List, profiling leading influential technologists under the age of 30. In 2007, he was a recipient of the InfoWorld CTO 25 Award, awarded annually to the nation's 25 most innovative technology executives.

Chris is the Chief Technology Officer and Head of International Development at Retail Decisions (ReD), the London-based global leader in payment processing and fraud prevention services. Since joining Retail Decisions in 1999, he has led the development of ReD's enterprise risk management and payment processing products and services. He manages a global staff of developers and serves as the Chief Architect for the company's hosted service platforms. Since 1999, he has designed custom fraud prevention and payment systems for the world's largest retailers and banks, including WalMart, Kmart, Sears, Macy's, Tesco, AT&T, Foot Locker, Fifth Third Bank, Royal Bank of Canada and the largest banks in China, South Korea and Japan.

In 2007, Retail Decision's systems touched 14 billion of the world's 140 billion payment card transactions.

He formerly served as Chief Technology Officer, Chief Architect and Partner at The AdProTech Group, a New Jersey-based technical research and consulting firm. While at AdProTech, he led implementations of global systems for Dow Jones, Intellectual Protocols and several other Fortune 100 Organizations. During this time, the company developed innovative techniques used to register dynamic content-driven websites with the United States Copyright Office. With Lewis Kurfist, he jointly holds the first certificate of copyright ever granted to an Internet website.

Prior to his tenure at AdProTech, he was the Director of Technical Services for IDT Corporation (New York Stock Exchange: IDT), the $2 billion global telecommunications provider. He has also served as a consultant to a number of major media organizations, including Times Mirror Magazines, Tribune Broadcasting Corporation and Viacom, as well as several New York City area firms specializing in music production and distribution. From 2001 until 2005, he served as an adjunct to the Rutgers University Center for Applied Computing Technologies.

He currently serves as a Director of Retail Decisions, Inc. and Director of Dynamic Vision Distributions (DVD), a Miami-based media content distributor and license clearing organization. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Direct Response Forum, Inc., the global industry association representing the world's largest merchants who accept Internet, mail order and telephone order payments. He also serves on the Advisory Board at Golden Gate Software, a privately held software company who provides enterprise high-availability and transactional data management software to the world's largest banks and retailers.

Chris has been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers and trade journals and speaks regularly on topics related to enterprise systems and fraud prevention. He is based in New York City.
